YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A PROFESSIONAL TO GET HURT IN THE WATER!
SO, KEEP YOURSELF SAFE!
In cooperation with the Dutch Sailing Association, the Sailing Innovation Centre, Technical University of Delft and the Dutch national Team, the WEEV Guardian cut resistant (kite) foil suit - 2024 Olympics version was developed to take the next step in athlete protection, safety and performance!
This is the suit Annelous Lammerts wore when she got the bronze medal in the 2024 Olympics, which has aerodynamic additions integrated. Wind tunnel testing at the Technical University of Delft showed that in optimal conditions you will gain 5 seconds in a race, which comes down to a competative advantage of 75 meters!
Anytime soon after the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris this suit will be made available as well. If you are already interested, you can already order it now as a PRE ORDER .
FEATURES
The suit features cut resistant fabrics on the vital parts of the body and ergnomic panelling for optimum fit/stretch and aerodynamic additions. It is designed to be used while wearing an impact vest, because the torso of the body doesn't have cut resistant fabrics included, but is made of Lycra.
The suit is made of UHMWPE (Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethelene), a material with extraordinary properties:
- CUT RESISTANT
- ABRASION RESISTANT
- ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT
- UV RESISTANT
- COOL TO THE SKIN
- SKIN FRIENDLY

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: Does the suit replace my current wet suit?
A: No, it's a base layer currently. We hope to develop a combination of a wet suit with integrated cut resistant features in the near future, but it's advisable that you use it as a base layer with your wet suit on top. Your wet suit will help protect during impact, because of it's 'springy' nature of the fabric / materials used.
Q: Does it soak in the water and become heavier?
A: No, the suit has water-repellent properties and therefore absorbs minimal water
Q: For which season was the suit developed and can it best be used?
A: The suit wasn't developed for a specific season, but has heat protection in it. The suit is thin and the materials used don't heat up when exposed to the sun. In general we advise athletes to wear a wet suit on top, for the upmost protection.
Q: Does the suit limit my mobility during activities?
A: No, the has been design to offer the best flexilibility and mobility possible throught the usage of ergonomic panneling and lycra additions for optimum fit. Apart from that advanced skin and usage comfort techniques have been used to seal and optimize seams ant stitches.
Q: Is the suit easy to put on?
A: Yes! In order to increase the ease of use we have applied a front zipper.
As far as is known, the materials used do not cause allergic reactions on the skin.
